Resilient California Summit

About the Summit

The inaugural Resilient California Summit, taking place October 20-22, 2026, at the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center in Sacramento, will convene people from across the state to make progress on the policies, partnerships, and practices needed to build resilience as climate change accelerates.

The Summit will feature a diversity of interactive sessions aimed at fostering conversation, sparking new ideas, and giving attendees the resources and tools they need to be successful in their work and communities. Participants will explore key insights from California’s Fifth Climate Change Assessment, imagine the best possible future that remains within reach, and catalyze the actions needed to turn that vision into reality.

The Summit is being organized by the Governor’s Office of Land Use and Climate Innovation, Climate Resolve, Farallon Strategies, the California Natural Resources Agency, and UC Davis Institute of the Environment – with core support from the David & Lucile Packard Foundation, Resources Legacy Fund, and Resilient Cities Catalyst.

Intended Audience:

We anticipate 1,000 attendees representing local and regional government, community-based organizations, state agencies, Tribes, nonprofits, academia, the private sector, and additional key partners.

Summit Goals and Objectives:

The Resilient California Summit aims to create meaningful opportunities for participants to connect, learn from one another, exchange ideas, and strengthen collaboration across California. The Summit will bring together partners to help turn science into action and accelerate climate resilience implementation across the state. Achieving this vision depends on contributions from across sectors and communities. Through engaging content, shared learning, and collaborative dialogue, the Summit seeks to advance the following objectives:

  • Science to Action – Translate the best-available climate science, including key findings from California’s Fifth Climate Change Assessment, into accessible and actionable insights that support real-world resilience planning and implementation.
  • Implementation, Policy, and Investment – Advance practical climate resilience action by sharing implementation lessons, case studies, tools, policies, funding opportunities, financing strategies, and risk-informed approaches that help communities and institutions move from planning to action.
  • Community Leadership and Collective Action – Strengthen partnerships and collective momentum for climate resilience by elevating Tribal, frontline, rural, youth, worker, and community-based perspectives; fostering peer learning and relationship building; and identifying shared priorities and next steps across sectors, regions, and levels of government.
