Quarterly Policy Pulse Calls - September 2026

From Executive Orders and Supreme Court decisions to state budget cuts, grantmakers today face a complex policy landscape that is significantly impacting nonprofits, charitable giving, and the communities we serve.

To support California funders navigating these challenging political and economic shifts, Philanthropy California will be hosting Quarterly Policy Pulse Calls to examine the latest policy developments affecting the philanthropic and nonprofit sectors. This series will convene funders and experts statewide to discuss public policy updates, engage in peer learning, and coordinate advocacy efforts.

Join us for our inaugural Quarterly Policy Pulse Call on Wednesday, September 9, at 10:00 am, where we will discuss the potential changes to Treasury regulations, examine the legislation targeting fiscal sponsorships, and provide updates on the advocacy efforts related to OMB regulations and the Medicaid Interim Final Rule.

Whether you are deeply engaged in public policy work or simply looking to stay informed, our Quarterly Policy Pulse Calls will create a space for California funders to make sense of an increasingly complex environment and take collective action. As we recognize the rapid and urgent nature of policy and proposed legislation, there will also be opportunities for engagement between the normal cadence of these calls, as needed.
